Ok I'm sitting here right now, ripping my hair out. I've already qualified on my weapon at the last post, but for some reason, since I'm drawing a weapon to take with me, I have to do it all over, and no less at the hardest range on the infantry's home. There were 12 of us that went to qualify today, and only 1 did, by 2 targets. I need to hit 5 more than I did today to pass. We would have stayed longer but a storm came and they closed the range....
I'm so frustrated right now I don't know what to do. I can't leave here if i don't qualify, but I just have to keep trying, until they'll finally sign off on it. I just hope I manage tmw. I don't want to stay here any longer than I have to. The Navy and civilians are starting to call this place a concentration camp. That's what it looks like, buildings w/ zombie like people walking about, barbed wire surrounding us...
On top of that, I think I've hurt my ankles again w/all the standing and walking in these crappy boots. they hurt like crazy, but I'll have to wait til I get in country to get them checked out. I just want to get out of here, so I can deploy and get it over with. To top it off, the only other Intel Analyst is a TOTAL moron, rude SGT that drives me nuts. I only hope the unit we end up at keep us separated.
Ok I'm done bitching now. I was good for the first couple of weeks, but I'm finding myself, again, amidst all the moronic things the military does.......and i remember why I didn't re-enlist! I know a lot of my issue w/ qualifying is me stressing myself out, like normal, but I don't even know how to calm down. I don't want to be here, and the way they are treating us is crap. Believe me, I will be writing a LOT of letters to the news, newspapers, magazines, army times, and select individuals at St. Louis (who called me) while I'm spending my precious time in Afghanistan.
the Shopette is still open, so I'm gonna go get some beer and call the movie night clan.
