Waiting in the dust bowl
06.16.04 (6:56 am) [edit]
Hi everyone! Well we didn't make the convoy today, and apparently the Sgt that was 'taking care' of us, went off shift and didn't tell anyone about us, so we waited all day for nothing. I called again this evening and talked to a nice female Major that set up a convoy for us tmw. She told us someone would be there to pick us up tmw, so we'll see!! I just want to get to Kabul and get settled. Meanwhile we're just talking to people here about the place, it doesn't sounds bad, living condition wise. We're told it's al lbuildings since we're in the capitol. There are a lot of people around, and they had said it's more dangerous because of that. So it should be interesting to say the least!!
Justin - did you try the turban instructions I sent you yet?? you need to be proficient by the time I get home!!!
Bren - thanks for the pics at the beach and poker, I laughed so hard everyone around me thought I was crazy!
I will post again when I get settled in Kabul, or if I'm still here another day, hehehe. Thanks honey for keeping people posted.

I gotta say kid, that's some scam you have going - here we're all sympathizing with you, and you're on the beach drinking beer and chocolate cake!!! That's my kid!!! - I shared "Kendra's beach adventures here at work and they loved it! Leslie suggested that you might have gotten to your final destination faster if you had rented a donkey (or camel?) At least you have a chance to look over beautiful downtown Bagram AFB before you take off for the big city. Don't forget those souvenir photos!! ..... love you bunches!!! Mom

Kendra, just checking in and I see have gotten behind with this one and your newest post. I hope things do go well especially with the living conditions aspect. That makes a big difference. Take care hon and you are in my prayers.
