He just watched Shrek 2 LOL..... posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 06.20.04 (8:45 am) I haven't named your dragon's twin who lives on my desktop yet, but here are my suggestions for yours: Sebastian - from the Roman name Sebastianus which meant "from Sebastia" in Latin. Sebastia was a town in Asia Minor, its name deriving from Greek sebastos "venerable". Saint Sebastian was a 3rd-century Roman soldier martyred by arrows after it was discovered he was a Christian. This was also the name of a king of Portugal who died in a crusade against Morocco. The name is now taken to mean "majestic, powerful, and beautiful" . A shorter version is Bastian, from "The Neverending Story". My second suggestion (in memory of your brief visit to Wales) is the name Huw (or Hugh). This name does does not come from "ewe" as is commonly believed. It is a shorter version of Huwanwllerwhyggillyomanstallywhackerurinatinginiofissicola, which means "The man who piddles in the stream that leads to the well where the water is bottled and sold to the English." (Just a note, this definition from the eliabale facts web site) Is the librarian in me showing yet??? Hope your find just the right name, he is such a sweetie! Love ya!! My favorite suggestion is TOBY after Toby Keith, Country Music Singer who gave us The Angry American, and more importantly The American Soldier....plus I LOVE THIS BAR......He has been over several times to entertain the troops in both Afghanastan and Iraq. "smoking gun" love again and again FGM posted by: brenna (reply) post date: 06.21.04 (7:56 pm) I'd vote for Falcore or Azreal. Falcore is that ever lovable dragon from Neverending Story. He was a very wise dragon. Azreal is the supposedly the name of the Angle of Death. Now at first glance that might sound like a rather stark name for such a friendly looking dragon but if you think about it the Angel of Death must truely be a kind spirit. He is the one who assists people in passing from life to death. The guide and the guardian of those souls as they transistion from one world to another. Being such an important role God would only bestow such responsibility upon his most benevolent and stalwart of servants. And so instead of the typical image of Death that hollywood has created I picture him as a powerful and noble spirit. One of great patience and wisdom. Anyway that's my suggestions. ;) |
