AHHH TGIF
06.25.04 (9:24 am) [edit]
Well almost for me, it's Friday night here, but my friday is tmw (saturday). I CAN'T WAIT!
Thank you to all who are sending boxes out to me!I'm looking forward to them, it'll be like christmas!!!
I spent my 'slow' day working my ass off. My tongue is bruised from biting it so much today. Comments such as 'I'm not your copy bitch' and 'I'm not your mother, you take the garbage out' keep wanting to spill off my lips. I also have a hard time getting my point across when some Warrant Officer puts his hand in my face and 'shooshes' me.
Oh well, if I did what I wanted to do, I'd be in a worse place, Leavenworth, so I will just have to remember that this isn't the real world, it's the military world. Where nothing but rank matters.......
How are things back in the states? I have a different take on Iraq and such, because I get more info, but what we're seeing on the BBC news and British CNN has really gotten us steamed.... What are your views on the recent times in Iraq and Afghanistan??????

yha you gottaa love the media. really scares me that some (most eople but that gives me nightmares to think about) people just listen to 1 news programs and do not take their news from varies sources. nice to see how cnn, bbc and other countries news differ. just have to remember they are all trying to show what they choose too and not the complete picture..

Brenna is correct about multiple sources. IMHO net work media and newspapers are editorializing their political views in the news pages. Since most have a anti-Bush leaning they are portraing everthing that happens in negative way. Some shows of Fox news cable are pretty good and others are playing the same political game. It gets down to who you want to believe and I don't think you can believe a lot of what is said and emphasized. I feel that we are approaching the yellow journalism age of 1900. The best thing about FOX is they are supporting the troops and try to give the news and try to throw some good news in also about what the troops are accomplishing. They are making a point of showing positive projects also.

The polarization of this country is amazing.

Don't take the news personal and understand it is being manipulated to serve editors purposes IMHO.

Your's Dad's right in saying don't take anything in the news personally. Right or Left in this country, I believe 99% of the folks are behing the troops. Whether the political policy is right or not, people can argue 'till they're blue in the face.....but, absolutely everybody that I've seen or talked to supports the soldiers.
Love you to bits, susan

Brits' views in general are heavy on the negative side Kratesis - but you know what a big 'ol complicated mess the whole situation is. Take care of yourself over there!
