Well after 4 hours of sitting and waiting and then trying to sleep on old wooden chairs in the conference room, they finally let us go back to bed.

EOD didn't show up for AN HOUR, then they realized, 'oh crap! the robot isn't charged!' which took another hour, then they had to decide what the hell to do with the thing.

Turns out it was a HUGE pipe bomb attached to a vehicle.  I really don't think it was intended to go off. I think it was an effort for them to see how we reacted... Just my opinion tho.

For those of you who are trying to get info on stuff going on here, you won't here about most of it, except for from me.  We're still not high on the news priority list so we don't get a lot of coverage.  Several people died today, not just soldiers, but politicians, scholars, ordinary folks.  Last nights events jolts you back to reality real quick. Love you all.

Let EOD know that I can send them another battery for the 'bot........If you go to the Foreign press (who have more troops there than Iraq) you start getting a little more info.

Hopefully, like I told Tim, this will get the attention of those who think...it can't happen here. A dose of a reality is a real kick in the butt........gets folks attention for a while.

Love, MOM and DAD (will try to keep the trigger finger off the post it button!!!!!)

This sounds like a repeat of your choir trip to England - guess that was just practice! Give whoever found the thing a big pat on the shoulder - you know, we don't keep very good count of how many disasters get stopped before they happen but somebody should get credit!!! Hope you can go back to that feeling of "vaction with a little work sprinkled in" for a while now.
Love, Mom
