My election thoughts
11.02.04 (4:22 pm) [edit]

Well we'll see what happens in a few hours, but as much as I disagree w/ some of Bush's conservative beliefs and plans for the country, there's other things I agree w/.

As for the war in Iraq and here in Afghanistan we are all pretty much hoping Bush wins.  There is the popular belief that if Kerry wins, he will want to pull out as many troops as possible in both countries and get the UN to step up their efforts in our place, but as much as I'd like to come home early, I dont' think it's a good idea.

I think our efforts are moving along well in Afghanistan, and soon they will be able to stand on their own feet.  As for UBL, al-Qa'ida and the Taliban, they will be around for a long time, and that will take much effort.  Even if we get UBL, we will not have 'won'.  He's just a political figurehead at this point. IMO...

As for Iraq, there is a lot to do in that country. I will not say whether I agree w/ being there or not, that is in the past, and we have to look forward. I think it'd be crazy to leave now or even in 6 months, because the country is just not stable enough.

We'll see what happens, but as far as the military goes, I hope Bush Wins!!!

Bush has won.....it will be interesting who stays in his cabinet and who leaves. Rumors are that Rummie and Powell will leave. Who knows...........

What is important is that we stay the course as we cannot afford to go away from it. We have to show force, be committed and be willing to win. The terror guys only understand and respect force. They will not stop until they are dead.

What it means for the military can only be guessed at I suppose. More of the same I imagine.

All of his domestic issues are debatable and will be compromised at some point. Study them carefully because he does have some reason for his policies and what the media reports is far from the full story.

He is going to have a chance to finish the job.
